And for whom will the Mother of God send ...
The guys are sitting in Sunday school, mother is talking about the feast of the Annunciation, everyone is listening. Only one small child can't sit still. Either he will get up, come up to his sister or another of the girls, caress, hug, then suddenly come up from the back to the boys and begin to tickle them. The boys move away, laugh, but they don’t drive her away - she’s still small.
Having calmed down, she sits down again and begins to draw, listens to her mother together with her elders and tries to remember everything, not to miss anything - she is interested.
Having finished the story, the mother turns to the girls with these words:
- And you know, girls, they say that if one of the girls is the first to come to the temple for the Annunciation and light a candle, that Mother of God will send the groom. - The girls immediately perked up, began vying with each other to shout:
- I will come! - I'll come! .. - The boys only chuckled. And suddenly a quiet childish voice blocked all the others:
- And I'll come.
Everyone immediately turned to this voice, and looked at the girl, some with surprise, some condescendingly (child, what is it!), Some with a smile, and mother asked:
- Honey, how old are you?
- Four years, - the girl answered in bewilderment ("do they know why they ask?")
- Do you have a boy? one of the girls asked smiling.
- No... - the child shook his head, still wondering - "Why?..."
- And who do you want to marry? - asked the other girl in a condescendingly affectionate tone.
And no one expected, probably, such an answer from a child. The little girl answered them in all seriousness:
- And for whom will the Mother of God send ...
