Help to the house of mercy in Kamenka
There is a temple of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Sumy Region. This temple was built in 1800 in the village of Kamianka in the Trostyanets district and is located on a small hill amidst a picturesque rural landscape. The church is known not only for its architecture, but also for the house of mercy created by it. The rector of the church of the archpriest Alexei Selegen established a shelter for single elderly and disabled people in 1998. This house of mercy is known far beyond the district. Together, a spacious house was built and now thirty-two single grandmothers live in the house with all the necessary amenities and receive medical care. Grandmothers who are nowhere to live are brought to Kamenka, and some grandmothers come alone. Volunteers from parishioners, nurse, orderlies, cooks also carry obedience.
On the occasion of the Celebration Day, the Pavlichenko Brothers Foundation staff transferred to the charity house the necessary household chemicals for cleaning the room and cleaning products for the personal care of the elderly.
Your heart rejoices when you learn about people willing to sacrifice a part of themselves for the sake of others who are completely unfamiliar with them. It is simply amazing how much patience, love and compassion for loved ones is enough to break away from worrying about oneself and one's family and to pay attention to single, absolutely no-need grandmothers.
