Once a disciple came to the sage with a question:

- Tell me, teacher, what is a choice?

“Choice is life itself,” he replied.

- But do we choose her? After all, we cannot avoid death. Is that a little closer or further away. This means that we have no choice - to die or not. We cannot choose birth and, unlike death, we cannot even choose its time and place. This means that we also have no choice - to live or not to live. What then remains for us? Only a very limited set of actions that can only shorten or prolong our life. Perhaps he will make it more or less comfortable. However, we are still deprived of our main choice. So how can life be a choice?

- You are still young and do not understand everything. Do you really have a choice as a child when your parents dress you? Yes, you can resist and be punished, or behave obediently and get a reward for it, but as a result, you will still be dressed and shod. When you are taken for a walk in the sandbox, you can play or not. Therefore, life is a choice. Your choice.

And you yourself choose whether to grow up and grow out of this sandbox, starting to dress yourself, or stay in it. Until then, you are only taught what is right and how to act.

Do not behave like a capricious child, then you will have much more freedom of choice.
